The Russian Ministry of Finance has announced the start of the fourth BudgetApps Open Government Financial Data contest.

LAUNCH OF THE FOURTH BUDGETAPPS OPEN GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL DATA CONTEST
The main aim of the contest is to develop applications and projects that will be in demand and will benefit the population and businesses based on open government financial data, to promote the disclosure and use of information on state and municipal finance presented in the form of open data, and to encourage the involvement of individuals and legal entities in these activities.

The BudgetApps Open Government Financial Data contest was first held in 2015 and was a success; since then, the Ministry of Finance holds it annually.

In 2018, winners of the contest will be chosen through independent selection of projects by a panel of experts. Following an assessment of materials entered in the contest, a ranking of the best projects will be posted on the official website of the contest; it will include three categories: The Best Software Products or Web Projects Using Open Government Financial Data; The Best Media Materials Created Using Open Government Financial Data; The Best Visual Presentation Created Using Open Government Financial Data. The award ceremony will be held as part of the Moscow Financial Forum.

Contest applications should be sent to opendata@minfin.ru within a month, between July 30 and August 30, 2018. Detailed information on the terms of the contest is available on the website at www.budgetapps.ru.
