Accelerated development of urban agglomerations is a natural process typical of modern national development.

Agglomerations ensure the concentration of human, scientific and technological resources necessary for the formation of new “growth points”, innovative businesses and ideas. Large urban agglomerations have an important effect on the competitive power of national economies.

The targets set in the Presidential Order signed in May this year include an increase in labour productivity and growth rates above global growth. Accordingly, one of the tasks will be to support growth points, i.e., urban agglomerations.

On September 6, the third Moscow Financial Forum participants will take part in a business session titled “Agglomerations as centers of economic growth: financing mechanisms”. Experts will discuss the approaches to defining the areas of influence and the economic potential of an agglomeration and facilitating its accelerated growth, as well as the projects to be supported in such “growth points”.
