The Government of the Russian Federation has started a series of meetings over the draft budget for 2019 and for the 2020-2021 planning period.

THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT STARTS A SERIES OF MEETINGS OVER THE DRAFT BUDGET FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS
The opening speech of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has been posted on the official website of the Government. He has pointed out that budget allocations for the development of healthcare, science, education, industry, transport, agriculture and construction and for ensuring that regional budgets are balanced will be made during industry meetings.

"The Ministry of Finance has already informed key budget holders about the relevant limits. As usual, ministries and agencies have made counter-proposals, which is only natural. In order to align our approaches, we need to hold additional meetings with our colleagues as soon as possible," emphasized Dmitry Medvedev.

The industry meetings will focus on measures supporting the achievement of key national development goals set in Executive Order No. 204 signed by the President in May.

According to the Chairman of the Government, the aim of the industry meetings is to find informed and balanced solutions that will form the basis of the new federal budget. After the draft budget is reviewed by the Government, it will be submitted to the State Duma before October 1.

We would like to remind you that the targets set in the Executive Order on National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Russian Federation until 2024 signed by the President in May this year will also be a special focus of discussion during the sessions of the Moscow Financial Forum on September 6 and 7.
