On August 27 at 13:00 at the TASS press center a press-conference will take place entitled “Financial literacy at school: the presentation of new school-books on financial literacy, created within the project of the Minfin of Russia” and attended by Deputy Finance Minister of Russia Sergei Storchak. New school-books on financial literacy for pupils will be presented at the event.
The school-books were developed in course of realization of the Minfin’s Project on increasing financial literacy of the population. The educational trajectory of the Project is aimed at all categories of citizens, including kindergarteners, pupils, students, adult population and pensioners.
More than 1.5 million pupils all over Russia have already partaken in educational financial literacy events organized under the aegis of the Project.
“The strategy of developing financial literacy in Russia entails large-scale work with pupils and students. We are counting that implementing financial literacy courses into the educational process will enable the young generation to acquire the skills of effective and safe financial management, which they not only will be able to apply themselves, but also share with their families,” – noted Deputy Finance Minister of Russia Sergei Storchak.
The participants will describe the specifics of the learning and teaching aids prepared as part of the Project, share practical experience of including financial literacy programs into school curriculum, and also discuss the staff preparation system for effective implementation of the study packs into educational institutions.
The press-conference is taking place on the threshold of the Moscow Financial Forum. Raising the awareness of the population of the matters of managing personal finances will be one of the topics at the event. At the forum, the delegates of industry-specific agencies will be discussing new possibilities and threats arising in connection with rapid digitalization of the financial services market in Russia.
The fourth annual Moscow Financial Forum will take place in Moscow on September 12 and 13 in the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. At the forum the experts will be discussing the matters of raising the degree of competitiveness of the economy, the development of financial markets, perfecting the governmental support of businesses, national projects realization, incentives for the entrepreneurial activity, efficacy of the tax policy and other urgent topics.
