In 2016, the Russian President signed the Executive Order on the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects, which served as a basis for the decision to introduce a consistent project approach to public administration in all public bodies.

A Government Decree of 15 October 2016 approved a Regulation on Project Activity in Russia and a functional structure of a project management system for the Russian Government.

On September 7, Moscow Financial Forum participants will discuss the results of the two years of implementing the project approach in government bodies during a business session titled “Project approach in public administration: experience, problems and prospects”.

Speakers at the business session will also focus on critical issues related to the implementation of the project approach to public administration, including successful practices that resulted in improved performance, interdepartmental projects, development of public officers’ project management competencies, and so on.
