“YOUTH IS OUR PRESENT, NOT FUTURE”: THE ROLE OF YOUTH IN THE COUNTRY’S DEVELOPMENT RECOGNIZED AT MOSCOW FINANCIAL FORUM

Participants of the Youth as Main Resource in Achievement of National Objectives session held on September 13 at Moscow Financial Forum covered the opportunities of creating conditions for self-fulfillment of the Russian youth.

Experts agreed on the point that active work with the youth today is one of the key factors of human capital development in Russia and timely achievement of national objectives.

“Our aim is to create maximum opportunities for the young people’s self-fulfillment in our country. This is going to result in a stable development of our state. Youth is our present, not future. Our future has just started their second or third grade and is only pondering over the way they will live. Our present is teenagers older than 14”, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Alexandr Bugaev stressed.

“Youth needs support. We want our youth to stay in Russia, we want young people from other countries to come here. Financial support provided to the youth in the last three years keeps growing. The focus is on creativity, student organizations, social activity, young scientists”, Auditor of Accounts Chamber of the RF Svetlana Orlova pointed out.

According to Svetlana Orlova, sufficient attention is being given to the funding of youth-oriented projects. She reminded that it is planned to spend over 4.5 trillion rubles on youth development in 2019-2024.

Deputy Director General of Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “Russia – a Country of Opportunities”, Rector of Senezh Management Workshop Alexey Kasprzhak made an appeal not to be afraid of a drift of talented youth from the country. He highlighted that, according to research, talented young people in all countries of the world feel a desire to move to another country, and intellectual migration is not a unique Russian problem. “Youth is a kind of polarized community we need to work with. I vote that we should separately evaluate the level of GDP produced by young people and position their impact on the country’s economy”, Alexey Kasprzhak said.
